Kreshnik Jonuzi is an Albanian-American filmmaker originally from Atlantic City, New Jersey, and currently based in New York City. He studied film at Lynn University and later earned a master’s degree in media studies, developing a deep commitment to socially driven documentary storytelling.
He began his career at NFL Films, producing and editing longform documentaries for HBO and ESPN, and currently directs and produces feature content for the NFL. In 2024, he was recognized as one of DocNYC’s "40 Under 40", celebrating emerging voices shaping the documentary landscape.
Kreshnik made his directorial debut with Triumph (2017), which follows the political and cultural significance of Albania’s national football team as it qualified for its first major international tournament. The film premiered at the Warsaw Film Festival and screened at DocsMX, AmDocs, and Fajr, winning the Audience Award at Dokufest. It is available on Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video.
His second feature, Belonging (2023), co-directed with Saevar Gudmundsson, tells the story of an Albanian-American family navigating the emotional aftermath of deportation. Supported by the Icelandic Film Center, it was showcased at Thessaloniki, Dokufest, Nordisk Panorama, Tirana, and Reykjavik film festivals. It is available on Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video.
Kreshnik is currently in post-production on a feature documentary, Enough (2026), co-directed with Matt Vigil and co-produced with Cineflix Media. The film follows civil rights attorney Lee Merritt and his team as they pursue justice in some of the country’s most high-profile cases of police brutality.
He is also co-producing Big In Gazi Baba (2027), directed by Pauline Blanchet. The film follows a 14-year-old female wrestling champion and the “son” in her Albanian-Muslim family in North Macedonia. The project was selected for Cannes Docs “Spotlighted Projects” and Hot Docs Deal Maker 2025.
Through his company, Top Neck Films, Kreshnik continues to explore stories of identity, justice, and belonging with depth, empathy, and purpose.
